Your a3 system has its own vessel database where you can store data such as tonnages, dimensions, hold sizes, ownership details and much more for vessels that your agency is appointed on. To access this list, click on the Vessels item in the menu bar.
Creating a Vessel
To create a vessel, click on the Create Vessel button at the top of the Vessels list - this will take you to the vessel creation form. From here you can save some time by looking up the details for your vessel using the Vesseltracker ShipDB lookup. Simply type a name or IMO number into the Search field and select the correct vessel from the results, then click the Load button to automatically populate the key fields on the vessel creation form with the data for this vessel:
The Vesseltracker ShipDB lookup provides access to the vessel particulars of over 160,000 vessel records, but in the unlikely event that you can't find the vessel details you require, you can manually create a vessel by filling out the details in the Create Vessel form below the lookup.
There are a number of additional fields which you can populate with additional information about the vessel should you wish. When you're happy with the vessel details, click the Save button at the top or bottom of the page to save this vessel into your a3 vessel database – it will then be available to use on any appointments created in your a3 system.
Quick Vessel Create from an Appointment
You can also quickly create a vessel record whilst creating an appointment so that you don't need to leave the page. You will see a Create Vessel button at the top of the Create Appointment screen which will popup with the Vesseltracker ShipDB lookup along with a condensed form for further vessel details.
Editing/Removing a Vessel Record
To edit a vessel, click on the Pencil icon at the end of the row in the vessel list, or next to the vessel name when viewing a vessel record.
To remove a vessel, click on the Trash Can icon at the end of the row in the vessel list, or next to the vessel name when viewing a vessel record. Note: vessels which are associated with appointments cannot be removed - you will need to remove the vessel from the appointment(s) before it can be removed.
