a3 allows users to set a status at the Nomination and Appointment level so that users can easily see at a glance the status of a port call, helping to move easily through the agency workflow.
Appointment Statuses
Appointments have a "high-level" status which covers the stages of a port call in a more simple detail. These statuses can be set when creating/editing an appointment, or on the Appointment Summary tab:
- ENROUTE: The vessel is making its way to the port
- IN PORT: The vessel is inside the port limits
- DEPARTED: The vessel has completed all purposes of call and has left the port limits
- COMPLETE: The appointment is complete and there are no further activities outstanding for this port call
With the exception of COMPLETE, these statuses are mostly used to provide a high-level overview of the current port call status when viewing an appointment only. The COMPLETE status also acts as a trigger to move the appointment to the Archives.
Note: An appointment will only move to the Archives once all Disbursements are marked complete, and the appointment status is set to Complete. Once Archived, an appointment will no longer show on the Dashboard.
Nomination Statuses
Providing a greater level of detail around the specific status of a vessel, Nomination Statuses are particularly useful for appointments which have multiple port activities under a single port call, or where you have been nominated for differing types of agency under a port call. These can be set directly against the nomination on the Appointment Summary tab, or via the Dashboard:
Changing the Nomination Status will affect the section under which the nomination is displayed on the Dashboard as follows:
- EN ROUTE
- EN ROUTE
- IN PORT
- ANCHORED
- BALLASTING
- BUNKERING
- DE-MOBILISING
- DEPARTING PORT
- DISCHARGING
- DRY DOCK
- FUMIGATING
- IN PORT
- LAY UP
- LIGHTERING
- LOADING
- MOBILISING
- ON STANDBY
- PURGING
- REPAIRS
- SAILING
- TANK CLEANING
- DEPARTED
- DEPARTED
These statuses are primarily used for an at-a-glance overview of the current port call status when on the Dashboard, but are also displayed in various other parts of the system (such as reporting) to give extra context to the position of a port call.
Note: For appointments which have multiple nominations (e.g. calling at a second port or terminal under the same appointment), and the statuses on these nominations span different dashboard sections, the appointment will show in each section of the Dashboard where it has a nomination with a relevant status.
