Adding a port to an office is a simple process. In a3, the ports play an integral role and define what appointments show up on the Dashboard for a particular office. Assigning a port to an office will also enable that office to create a PDA for that specific port in the event that you are a user of our Port Cost Watch System. For non-Port Cost Watch users, adding ports to an office is optional and the Dashboards will simply pull in the appointments being led by that office if no ports are set. Adding common ports to multiple offices can also be used to share nominations between office Dashboards in the event that this is required.
In order to add a port to a specific office, navigate to your Agency's Company contained within the Companies list which is found on the sidebar, as seen below. You can then search for your Agency company in the list, but it is important to remember that this will have the type "Shipping Agency", as seen below:
Next, you must navigate to the office that you wish to attach a port to by scrolling down the page where the Offices that are linked to your company are found and select the desired office:
Then go to the Ports section of the office which will be towards the bottom of the webpage and click the +Add Port button as shown below:
Type the first few letters of the port that you want to add - this will search your a3 Ports list which by default contains a list of the most common shipping ports across the world. Click on the relevant port in the dropdown and click the Save button to add this port to the office. If you find that the port you are looking for does not show in the dropdown, it will need to be added in Settings -> Ports.
